Tutoring Schedule
You can make an in-person or virtual appointment for a session with a tutor. You can make an online or virtual appointment online, and can join your appointment online through our online scheduler and videoconference host website, WCOnline.
In-person sessions are held on the Olympia campus Writing Center.
What you can do from the virtual Writing Center page

See available appointment slots in a calendar view (First page once you select a schedule)

See tutor bios (Click on an available slot)

Sign up for an appointment (Click on an available slot)

Cancel or Modify appointments (Click your appointment, scroll to end, click "Cancel Appointment" or "Modify Appointment")

Join your video conference (Click your appointment, click "Start or Join Consultation")

Coordinate with your tutor about your preferences for the session when your session begins. For example:

Video: on or off?

Chatting out loud or chatting using the instant messaging function?

Transfer over to Zoom, use Google Docs, or stay within WCOnline?

Use an accessible version of WCOnline. Toggle from the "text-only" version for mobile or use the web-based version. The link is in the upper-left corner.
First time making an appointment?
(Simplified Steps)

Go to the scheduling portal by going to evergreen.mywconline.com or clicking the "Join your session or make an appointment" button below.

Click on the "Register for an Account" link.

Activate your account through your email.

Go back to evergreen.mywconline.com, sign in, and look for a time with tutor that works for you.

Fill out the appointment form, click save, and look for the confirmation to appear in the appointment window that your appointment was saved!

At your appointment time, sign in to evergreen.mywconline.com again, click on your appointment, and click "Start or Join Session." Enable video and audio permissions.

First Time Making an Appointment

Go to the scheduling portal at evergreen.mywconline.com

Click "Register for an Account" at the top of the page.

Sign up for an account using an email address that you regularly check. (This is where your activation email, reminders, and updates will be sent.)

Choose a 10-character password. You might want to write it down and keep it in a safe place.

Fill out the additional fields in the form and click "Submit" when you are done.

Open the email from WCOnline (sent to your registration email). You can search for "WCOnline" or "activate." You may have to check your junk folder.

Click on the activation link in the email.

That link will take you to the sign-in page on WCOnline again.

Log-in evergreen.mywconline.com using the email address and password that you signed up with. Click the button next to the schedule you want to view before you click "Sign in." (Remember, you will have to activate your account via email before you can log in!)

Click on any available appointment time (white boxes on our calendar).

Fill out the appointment form making sure you fill out all fields with an * noting that they are required.

You should schedule a 1-hour appointment for most projects and a 30-minute appointment for very short projects or quick questions. Actual session lengths are 50 minutes and 25 minutes—we reserve 5-10 minutes as a break at the end of each session.

Click "Create Appointment" to finish.

Note when your appointment is in your calendar!

Log-in to evergreen.mywconline.com about 3-5 minutes before your session starts. Your tutor will join you at the session time.Your session will be marked as missed at 15 minutes after the start time for a 50-minute session, or 10 minutes after the start time for a 25-minute session.

To join your session, click on your appointment time in the calendar view. When the View Existing Appointment box pops up, click “Start or Join Consultation.”

A video conference will automatically start. Allow WCOnline to use your camera and microphone. See: Troubleshooting for camera and audio.

Get any notes or documents you have ready for the session by pulling them up on your computer or device.

You can also chat via a text chat on the right-hand side. Once your tutor logs on, you and your tutor can discuss how to share work (Google Docs, WCOnline, Zoom, etc.)
- You can feel free to fill out the Author's note on the writing pad before your tutor arrives.
