Steps to access equipment at Media Loan

Eligibility requirements to use equipment
- Currently enrolled students can borrow equipment if they are using it for credit-generating work and paid media fees as part of their program enrollment.
- Registered Student Organizations (RSO) can rent equipment for group activities. Review our Rental Rates

How to reserve or checkout equipment
Reservations (request to hold equipment for a certain pick up date)
- Review equipment catalog.
- Identify equipment you want to use.
- Call, email or drop by Media Loan in Lib 2504.
Checkout (actually picking up the equipment)
- Review equipment catalog.
- Identify equipment you want to use.
- Bring your current Student ID.
- Drop by Media Loan.
Equipment is available from the first day of the quarter until evaluation week. Equipment can be used for evaluation purposes only until Wednesday of evaluation week.
How to get longer checkout periods
Extended Loan
Normal loan periods for most equipment is 7 days. Loans for longer periods of time need prior approval. The longest period for an extended loan is one quarter.
Renewals
Renewals can be done prior to return date during loan period. Call or stop by the front desk to renew. You must talk to someone and get a confirmation to avoid late fines. You can renew if the equipment is available.
How to return equipment
To avoid penalties you must return equipment before the due date printed on your agreement form. You will receive email reminders of your initial checkout and notices as your due date approaches.

Your responsibilities when borrowing equipment
- Have fun and learn.
- Use equipment properly.
- Test equipment immediately and report any issues.
- Return it on time.
- Pay for damages or loss if that happens.
- Get insurance if you are traveling.
- Review Conditions of Use.
