After experiencing the intense, rigid, and often isolating structure of law school I sought a model that valued the human element of learning. I needed an environment where education wasn’t a series of hurdles to jump over, but more of a well-rounded experience that allowed me to reconnect with my passion for knowledge.
The way Evergreen encourages deep engagement between peers and faculty has transformed my view of higher education. Instead of feeling like a number in a lecture hall, I can talk with my faculty and feel like my name is actually remembered. There is a collaborative atmosphere that has been essential for developing my soft skills and communication, helping me see a healthy collective growth rather than individual competition.
Seeing students of all ages at Evergreen makes me feel like an equal with my peers and reassures me about going back to school at almost 26.
