Portrait of Mukti Khanna

I am a practicing clinical psychologist with academic and clinical interests in integrative health, behavioral medicine, applied interpersonal neurobiology, expressive arts therapies, multicultural psychology, and somatic practices. I am studying the integration of world medical systems such as Ayurveda and Medical Qigong, into healthcare to focus on prevention and wellness for both physical and mental health. I have worked with expressive arts therapy models to promote community and cultural well-being nationally and internationally. I have worked with Evergreen students to present their individual and program work through the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association Conferences during the past two decades.

Education

Ph.D., Clinical Psychology, University of Tennessee Knoxville, 1989; B.A., Human Biology, Stanford University, 1983.

Teaching Style

I am inspired by the scientist- practitioner model of training in clinical psychology to support students in developing excellent competency in the knowledge, skills, and abilities foundational to being successful in exploring psychology and integrative health and become innovative thinkers in addressing mental health needs. Through apprenticeship, students develop abilities to address global trends in mental health through developing the ability to work collaboratively in diverse settings through an integration of theory and practice.
