
I teach literature, American Studies, and Queer Studies. My research centers on the cultural practices f human rights, and on literary engagements with the cultural politics of rights. Publications include the book Colonial Affairs, a study of colonialism and sexuality in American expatriate literature, sexual rights, and human rights in Brazil and in the United States, and have served as guest editor for human rights of Cadernos de letras and College Literature
