HR Basics for Supervisors is part of the three course Supervision Certificate. Courses in this program can be taken in any order. A basic understanding of human resource management is one of the most valuable skills in a supervisor’s tool kit. Supervisors must be able to give and receive feedback, manage conflict, and implement performance action plans. They may be tasked with talent acquisition, onboarding, training and supporting a diverse workforce. HR knowledge and skills ensure compliance with state and federal laws and help create a positive and inclusive workplace. This class includes both synchronous (scheduled) and asynchronous instruction using the Canvas Learning Management System and Zoom.
