What is democracy? What purposes does government serve? This course offers comparative analysis of two influential democratic models: the U.S. Constitutional system and the British parliamentary system. You will learn the historical contexts that created these systems, and through comparative analysis you will assess the stability and effectiveness of legislative, executive, and judicial functions in each. Reading assignments, discussions, and case studies make this course an excellent preparation for future teachers, lawyers, civil servants, and community leaders.
