The third course in a three-quarter sequence about human anatomy and physiology. Environmental exchange includes exploration of the respiratory, digestive and urinary systems. Lecture and laboratory work are asynchronous online in Canvas and include pre-recorded lectures, virtual histology and 3D anatomy models through the Visible Body platform. Synchronous support involves weekly Zoom meetings and three Saturday labs where students can practice measuring blood pressure, spirometry, blood typing, and perform animal dissections of a fetal pig, heart, and kidney. To successfully participate in this program, students will need a computer or laptop with internet access.
