The third offering in a three-quarter sequence about human anatomy and physiology, this course will examine body fluids and transport including blood, the cardiovascular system, the lymphatic system and immunity. Discussion of environmental exchange will include the respiratory system, digestive system and urinary system. Laboratory includes a mix of virtual work and (optional) in-person work with histology, blood typing, anatomical models and dissections of an animal heart, kidney and fetal pig (home-use kits or on campus). To successfully participate in this program, students will need a computer or laptop with internet access. For this hybrid course, students can expect one to two hours of synchronous (regularly scheduled) class time per week, and two to three hours of asynchronous (self-paced) work per week.
