Anatomy and Physiology: Foundations and Movement

This is the first of a three quarter sequence in human anatomy and physiology with laboratory. This course covers the topics of using anatomical terminology, identifying levels of organization in the human body, primary tissue types, and the body systems for support and movement including the integumentary system, skeletal system and muscular system. Laboratory activities will include a mix of virtual options and in-person work with microscopy and histology, preserved human skeletons for bone identification, and anatomical models for skeletal and muscle identification.

To successfully participate in this program, students will need a computer or laptop with internet access. For this hybrid course, students can expect one to two hours of synchronous (regularly scheduled) class time per week, with some weeks meeting virtually by Zoom and other weeks meeting in person within the laboratory buildings for hands-on work.
