Common Data Set Initiative
The Common Data Set (CDS) Initiative is an effort among higher educational institutions and the publishers of information about this community such as the College Board, Peterson's and U.S. News and World Report.
This initiative involves the collection of data in a standard format which allows comparisons across institutions. Many of the definitions in the common data are the same as those used by the U.S. Department of Education.
