Evergreen's Accreditation
The Evergreen State College has been accredited continuously by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities since receiving initial accreditation in 1974. The Commission most recently reaffirmed Evergreen's accreditation in 2026.
Accreditation is not granted indefinitely, but is an ongoing cycle of institutional self-study and peer evaluation to reaffirm accreditation status. The accreditation cycle is a seven-year, progressive process moving through standards set by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
Evergreen's current accreditation cycle will begin in 2027 with the submission of its Year One report and will conclude in 2032 with an evaluation of institutional effectiveness and mission fulfillment under NWCCU's accreditation standards.
