¡Hola! I am delighted to join the ACA team as a Faculty Advisor to support students in navigating their studies at Evergreen. I joined the Evergreen faculty in 2013, and teach programs in Latin American Studies, Spanish language, and Creative Writing. I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia and am available to support students in both English and Spanish while nourishing multilingual spaces on campus. I am also passionate about helping students connect with local and global communities as part of their education: community-based learning is an important element of my teaching, I have led study abroad programs to Mexico and Nicaragua, and support immigrant/ undocumented students as a co-chair of the Undocumented Student Task Force. As a path of study co-convener (El Camino), I am committed to helping students navigate paths of study at the College and find the one that is right for them. Whatever your interests, my goal is to help students find and follow their passions while connecting to the right people and resources on campus.

I am deeply committed to interdisciplinary study and the importance of lifelong education. I hold a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Brown University and recently completed an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. When not in class or on campus, I write poetry in both English and Spanish, love learning about birds and deep-sea creatures, have participated in Playback Theater, spend time with my children and partner, and love to advocate for the transformative power of art. I love teaching and learning with students, and instigating joy in educational spaces.
