This 2-credit course is focused on experiential learning at the annual Tilth Conference, November 13-15, in Spokane, WA. In collaboration with the Spokane Conservation District's Farm and Food Symposium, this year's conference will bring together growers, organizations, food system activists, researchers, and educators to learn, network, and celebrate! Three days of activities will include four tracks of educational sessions, keynote speakers, workshops, a trade show, networking opportunities, and farm walks. Spokane Conservation District's Farm and Food Symposium collaboration will focus on the BioFarming Program to address the vital link between soil and human health, advocating for transparency and integrity in the food system.
Tilth Conference: BioFarming as an Evergreen course includes pre-conference reading and preparatory work, conference mult-media postings, and post-conference reflection and presentation. We'll use hybrid practices through Canvas and required pre- and post-conference campus meetings on Tuesdays 10.28 and 11.18 from 4-6 pm.
Costs for college van transportation, shared hotel lodging, and conference fees provided are in the special expenses and fee sections. Meals are included and meal times are an integral component of the Tilth Conference. Scholarships for reduced fees likely will become available and must be applied for individually online.
