Spanish Second Year I is designed for students with established conversational skills. Classroom communication is conducted entirely in Spanish. These courses build upon foundational knowledge to increase fluency and communicative confidence.
Prerequisites: Students must be proficient in basic sentence structure and the indicative conjugations (present and past) for both regular and irregular verbs.
The quarter focuses on applying grammatical rules to active conversation and academic writing. A targeted review will cover ser/estar, direct/indirect/reflexive pronouns, the pretérito/imperfecto distinction, and the perfect tenses. By the end of the term, students will be able to navigate complex everyday interactions and express detailed information about themselves and their environment with greater spontaneity. This class will include both in-person and online meetings.
