In this advanced printmaking course, students will work independently on a printmaking technique of their choice, building on skills and knowledge acquired in previous courses. This course is designed to foster individual artistic development and professional growth.

Students will select a printmaking technique they have previously learned and develop a body of work that showcases their proficiency and knowledge of skills. Each student will write an artist statement that articulates their artistic vision, process, and the conceptual underpinnings of their work.

Additionally, students will choose one of the following options to further their professional development:

  • Conduct professional development research to explore career opportunities, grant writing, or portfolio development.
  • Write a concise research paper on a topic related to printmaking, art history, or contemporary art practices.
  • Participate in an art show, where they will exhibit their work and engage with the public and the art community.

The studio lab will be available for work outside of class sessions during the week. Assignment work may require an additional 4-6 hours.
