Students will learn how to function in Japanese in everyday situations by learning useful expressions and basic sentence structures.  Katakana letters and elementary kanji characters will be introduced. Class activities will include presentations and discussion on Japanese culture and life.

This is a good preparatory course for students interested in participating in Evergreen's exchange program with University of Miyazaki or University of Hyogo in Japan.
