This course is designed for students who want to broaden their skills and depth in ceramic studio expressive art making. It is highly recommended that students have previously taken a college-level ceramics course. Students will begin to develop an informed and personal style while refining both wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramic forms. Lectures and demonstrations will explore a variety of ceramic processes and contemporary approaches exploring clay as an expressive medium. Assignments will include intermediate level wheel throwing techniques and working with larger sculptural forms. Craftsmanship, attention to detail, and follow through on concept development will be the focus of oral and written group reviews of completed projects
