This course continues to explore the fundamentals of sound as it applies to music, mixing, and advanced digital production techniques. Students will continue learning Pro Tools by diving deeper into digital signal processes, applying advanced mixing production workflows, and using effects to treat the tonal and transient components of instrumentation constructively.

Projects will consist of advanced multitrack mixing productions, song analysis, and critical listening exercises. Weekly multitrack mixes and exercises will be assigned using the foundational principles of mixing and editing.

This course is taught using Canvas for online lectures and demonstrations, Pro Tools for mixing, and listening exercises using various streaming platforms. By the end of the course, students will have an advanced understanding of mix organization, editing techniques, effectively applying effects to instrumentation, and a critical ear for mixing music and sound reproduction. This is the second of three courses in the Audio Fundamentals and Mixing Techniques Certificate.
