The purpose of this class is to provide TRIO students with the academic support, tools, and resources to cultivate financial wellness. Required readings, reflections and presentations will support the development of each student’s knowledge, competencies, and skills directly related to understanding how finances impact their life decisions. During the quarter students will learn about the financial cost of their education and identify effective means for funding or reducing the cost of their education at Evergreen. The final project for the course will be turning in a completed scholarship application to the Evergreen Scholarship portal.  This course will promote growth in higher order thinking skills, such as critically analyzing and responding to texts, synthesizing financial information, and applying knowledge to real life experiences.
