The Fragmented Memoir is a course designed for all level of writers interested in learning how to write personal narratives. When life leaves us fragmented, telling our stories can make us whole. Writing our lived experiences through lyric and hybrid forms can create the space needed to creatively explore specific events in our lives, themes that present in our lives, and tell our own stories. Students will focus on narrative point of view, voice, and forms of memoir writing that fit their particular aesthetic and story. Class will include weekly writing prompts, written reflections, seminars focused on chosen excerpts from published memoirs, as well as peer workshopping. This class meets online via Zoom on Tuesday evenings 6pm - 9pm. Access to Canvas and Zoom is required.
