Taught By:
In Scholarly Seminar III, students will engage Evergreen Tacoma’s Motto, “Enter to learn; depart to serve,” along with its RICH Values (Reciprocity, Inclusivity, Civility, and Hospitality) as they review what it means to be a community-grounded scholar. Students will study and reflect on the contributions and vision of TESC Tacoma founders Dr Maxine Mimms and Dr Joye Hardiman. They will have the opportunity to share and discuss their own academic experiences, challenges, and ideas. Canvas as a learning management system, computer literacy, APA citations, and the conventions of academic writing will be covered. Students will examine the way Evergreen’s Six Expectations are addressed in Tacoma. The emphasis is placed on collective learning.
