Physics B is an accelerated course covering half of the second as well as the third quarter of college-algebra based physics, including kinetic theory, gas laws, thermodynamics, oscillatory motion, waves, electricity, and magnetism. Through labs and collaborative group work, students will cultivate an intuitive understanding of physics concepts, develop the ability to communicate those concepts effectively to others, and build skills in applying quantitative methods to a variety of physics problems.
Taking the Physics A & B summer course sequence provides the equivalent of a year-long standard introductory algebra-based physics sequence. Students who have taken or are currently taking calculus have the option to earn calculus-based physics credits.
