Organizations operate in a complex legal and regulatory landscape that shapes nearly every aspect of organizational life. This course introduces students to the major areas of law relevant to business and nonprofit managers, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, liability, and regulatory compliance. Students will learn how legal frameworks influence strategic and operational decisions, and how to recognize when professional legal guidance is needed. Case studies and simulations will help students practice identifying legal issues in real-world scenarios, balancing organizational goals with ethical and legal responsibilities. By the end of the course, students will have the tools to navigate legal constraints with confidence and to lead organizations that act with integrity and accountability.
