Taught By:
Introduces students to basic piano playing, music notation reading, ear training and music theory.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the basic techniques of playing piano
2. Read basic staff notation for treble and bass clef and realize basic symbols with the instrument.
3. Play approximately 5-10 simple piano pieces
4. Play at sight simple compositional structures.
5. Identify and play the major and minor keys
6. Identify simple chord progressions
7. Identify intervals by ear
