This course will give students the practical tools required to do research focusing on human behavior and experience. With a focus on qualitative methodologies, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of research, including crafting research questions, sampling approaches, ethics, data collection, analysis, reporting, etc.
This course will use synchronous seminar discussion and workshops to respond to and integrate asynchronous reading and lecture. In workshops, students will gain skills to design their own qualitative research project, including conducting literature reviews, collecting qualitative data, etc. Asynchronous discussion and collaborative work will focus on developing skills for the critical consumption of research.
