This course introduces college students to the foundations of academic writing and helps them develop essential skills in critical reading, rhetorical analysis, and argumentation. Through essays, multimodal projects, and reflective writing, students will engage with contemporary texts that explore issues of identity, culture, language, and community. Emphasis is placed on writing as a process, including drafting, peer review, revision, and editing. This course prepares students for academic success across disciplines while empowering them to see their own experiences as meaningful subjects for intellectual inquiry.
