During this creative writing course, students will explore the art of storytelling by transforming personal narratives into live performances. The course begins with writing a short memoir, focusing on meaningful moments, personal identity, and emotional truth. Through workshops and guided revisions, students will adapt their memoirs into 10-minute black box stage plays, learning the fundamentals of dramatic structure, dialogue, and character development. Emphasis will be placed on how personal experience can be reshaped for an audience, balancing authenticity with theatrical impact. The course culminates in a staged reading or performance, allowing students to see their work come to life and engage in reflective writing about the adaptation process.
