In this 8-credit program students will learn the steps to create farm crop and sales plans with practical emphasis on how to analyze past records, incorporate market research, set production and sales goals, develop an operating budget and cash flow projections, and create a detailed cropping plan suited to the goals. We will utilize campus farm records and upcoming farming season goals to create real plans, making this program ideal for students who have completed the Practice of Organic Farming program or seek to continue learning on the campus farm and put our plans into action. Familiarity with using Excel is a prerequisite for successful participation in the program.
