Experience Japan provides students with two ways for students to travel to Japan and study Japanese culture and language, one at Tamagawa University, and one at the University of Miyazaki. 

Tamagawa Program:

This two-week program will give students firsthand experience of Japanese culture and society as well as Japanese college life. Students will study Japanese and will learn the latest topics in Japan by attending classes on Japanese literature, culture and society taught by Tamagawa University professors. You will go on fieldworks related to lecture contents and experience cultural activities such as tea ceremony, archery and calligraphy with Tamagawa students. Students will need to attend pre-departure meetings on June 3, June 10, and June 24, and pre-departure seminars on Japan on June 26 and July 3.

Miyazaki Program:

This program is part of the international exchange project 2023-24 between TESC and UOM. Applicants are limited to those students who have already participated in this exchange. Students will study environmental issues and green transformation with UOM students and those representing another American university, a university in Korea and two Taiwanese universities. Excursions will include visits to municipal governments, companies and local communities. Students will participated in pre-departure seminars and post-program seminars.
