This interdisciplinary program will explorelocal-to-globalconnections, encompassing the social, environmental, and economic realities that shape the lives ofindividuals and communities. This framework will examinekey issuessuch as education, health, human rights, climate change, poverty, food insecurity, immigration, and inequality. We will also look atlocal and internationalinitiatives addressing these pressing problems. The purpose of this program is to offer exploratory studies for studentsseekingto work and pursue more advanced studies in the following fields: Community Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Government, Law and Public Policy, Sociology, Cultural and Media Studies, andEarly Childhood Education.By focusing on citizenship from local, national, and global perspectives, we will engage students in studies that recognize the interconnectedness of people fromdiverse culturesand countries. We aim to understand how decisions made in one part of the world canimpactpeople elsewhere and actively contribute to a better world beyond national borders. This includes fostering awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives. The goal is to enhance students' abilities to respond to and promote positive change on both personal and institutional levels.Students willutilizeinvestigatesuccessfulmodels of change to extrapolate how such models might be useful but also might be limited in theircapacityto address future possibilities, and to propose proactive community-based interventions tailored to specific community concerns.
