This interdisciplinary program will explore local-to-global connections, encompassing the social, environmental, and economic realities that shape the lives of individuals and communities. This framework will examine key issues such as education, health, human rights, climate change, poverty, food insecurity, immigration, and inequality. We will also look at local and international initiatives addressing these pressing problems. The purpose of this program is to offer exploratory studies for students seeking to work and pursue more advanced studies in the following fields: Community Studies, Environmental Studies, Public Health, Government, Law and Public Policy, Sociology, Cultural and Media Studies, and Early Childhood Education.   By focusing on citizenship from local, national, and global perspectives, we will engage students in studies that recognize the interconnectedness of people from diverse cultures and countries. We aim to understand how decisions made in one part of the world can impact people elsewhere and actively contribute to a better world beyond national borders. This includes fostering awareness, appreciation, and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives. The goal is to enhance students' abilities to respond to and promote positive change on both personal and institutional levels.   Students will apply a historical lens to examine global affairs beyond states and how social, economic, and environmental issues often transcend national borders and require cooperation beyond individual countries to address effectively. This includes investigating personal and societal notions of the natural and social worlds as portrayed through arts and humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.
