In what ways do our positive, constructive emotions/perceptions enhance our ability to see reality? Are there effective methods for training the mind to cultivate positive thoughts/emotions? How can we develop and maintain a mental well being in individual life or collective society?

Students will analyze the nature of positive mental states, constructive emotions/thoughts, their influence on our mental stability and brain physiology, and methodologies for influencing and improving mental development and function. We will explore the correlation between mental training of the mind and physiological changes in the brain, and also design effective methods, applying East-West psychological approaches, to develop a mental well being program that will function as a foundation either for personal growth or helping profession.
