Designed for writers and readers who want to be challenged and to push beyond conventional approaches to poetry and prose, this advanced Literary Arts Program is about the glorious complexity of reading.

In this program, you'll face challenging texts and develop the knowledge and skills to dig in and learn their pleasures. At the same time, you'll engage in writing challenges that will push your approach to language and craft in all directions.

In addition to weekly lectures and seminars, students will complete a major manuscript project over the course of the quarter; students enrolled for the full 16 credits will also complete a major critical research project.

This program is excellent preparation for students interested in pursuing graduate level study in the literary arts.
