Sustainability Roundtable: Imagining a Solarpunk Evergreen
Join us for an engaging, solutions-focused discussion on the future of sustainability at Evergreen! The Sustainability Roundtable is a space for students, staff, faculty, and community members to connect, share ideas, and explore how we can shape a more sustainable and resilient campus—starting today.
We’ll begin with food and conversation, celebrating the role of student governance in advancing sustainability efforts. Then, we’ll break into discussion groups centered on key sustainability topics at Evergreen, including:
• Bringing Back the Bikeshop – Expanding bike repair services, increasing accessibility, and encouraging alternative transportation.
• Beekeeping & Pollinator Conservation – Supporting campus apiaries and native pollinator habitats by redesigning past programs to thrive.
• Waste-Free Campus – Reducing waste, rethinking campus materials, and advancing composting and recycling efforts.
• Renewable Energy & Green Infrastructure – Exploring solar, wind, and energy efficiency projects.
• Sustainable Food & Agriculture – Strengthening connections between the Organic Farm, community gardens, academic programs, and the Rad House greenhouse.
• Funding Sustainability Initiatives – Identifying strategies to support and expand environmental projects on campus.
After small-group discussions, we’ll reconvene to share key insights, visions, and action steps. Whether you’re already involved in sustainability efforts or just curious about how to make an impact, all members of the Greener community are welcome to contribute to this collaborative conversation!
Let’s dream big and take tangible steps toward a Solarpunk Evergreen—a campus that embodies innovation, resilience, and ecological harmony.
