Hosted by Emergency Management, this annual event brings together our campus partners and local emergency response agencies to deliver inclusive, engaging, and action???focused preparedness education for all students, staff, and faculty.
Featured Trainings & Events ??? First Aid / CPR CertificationLearn essential skills to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies. Participants will receive hands???on instruction and nationally recognized certification.
???? Live Fire Extinguisher TrainingIn partnership with the McLane Black Lake Fire Department, this popular interactive training teaches you how to properly assess small fires and safely use a fire extinguisher with real equipment in a controlled environment.
???? Opioid Overdose Prevention & Naloxone UsePresented by the Department of Health and Social Services, this workshop covers recognizing the signs of an overdose, legal protections, and how to administer lifesaving Naloxone.
???? Run • Hide • Fight – Active Shooter ResponseLed by Police Services, this training provides strategies to respond to violent critical incidents, with practical guidance on maintaining situational awareness, decision???making under stress, and understanding campus resources.
???? Fire Kitchen Safety WorkshopAlso supported by the McLane Black Lake Fire Department, this session covers common causes of kitchen fires, safe cooking practices, and how to respond effectively to stovetop and grease fires.
???? Campus???Wide Evacuation Training & Fire DrillsEmergency Management will conduct coordinated evacuation drills across all academic buildings and campus housing. Participants learn evacuation routes, building assembly points, and how to support peers during real events.

Disaster Planning for Special Needs & PetsThis specialized, inclusive workshop focuses on preparedness planning for individuals with access or functional needs as well as families with service animals or pets. Topics include communication plans, medical necessities, mobility considerations, and sheltering with animals.
???? Build a Family Plan & Go BagLearn how to create a personalized family communication plan and assemble a disaster “go bag.” Participants will walk through essential items, documentation, comfort items, and real???world strategies for evacuation and shelter???in???place scenarios.
