This certificate is designed for individuals entering the accounting field and requires no prior accounting experience or prerequisites. The curriculum consists of three courses that progress from introductory to intermediate accounting concepts. Students begin with financial accounting fundamentals based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with an emphasis on the accounting cycle and the preparation and interpretation of core financial statements. The program then introduces managerial and cost accounting, focusing on the use of accounting information for internal planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and performance evaluation. The certificate concludes with an intermediate accounting course that deepens understanding of accounting theory and financial reporting, including asset valuation, liabilities, equity, and recent updates to GAAP.
