Outdoor Activities
Most activities are free and open to the public, no reservations required. (You’ll need to pay for parking on weekdays, or you can bus or bike to the college.)
Running, Hiking, and Walking
Run or walk on a 400 meter cinder track, on the college’s network of forested trails, or on the Evergreen beach.
We also organize road races on campus:
- Geoduck Gallop: 10K & half-marathon in February
- Speedy Sprint: 10K event in June

Go kayaking on the Puget Sound. Boats, paddles, and PFDs are available to rent from The Outdoor Program.
On the Water
With 3000 feet of unspoiled beach, there’s plenty of water to explore on the Puget Sound, whenever you feel like it.
Go kayaking or join the ranks of paddleboarders—one of the fastest-growing outdoor sporting activities in recent years.
Rent a kayak or paddle board and PFD from The Outdoor Program inside the CRC if you don't have your own equipment.
Outdoor Games and Sports
Free to students and members: borrow discs, tennis rackets, and tennis & soccer balls at the Equipment Check Out inside the CRC. If you’re not a member, you’ll need to pay for a CRC day pass to borrow equipment.
- Disc golf: Play disc golf on a 9-hole intermediate-to-advanced course planned, developed, and maintained by the South Puget Sound Disc Golf Association. The course leads through old growth forest and open fields, wrapping around the college’s challenge course. We’re in the process of expanding to 18 holes by spring 2017.
- Tennis: Play tennis on one of four outdoor courts. The tennis courts are also used for bike polo!
- Open fields: Plus, with acres of open fields, the area near the CRC and housing is great for all kinds of playing outside, structured or free-form. (If you need sunblock when the sun comes out, drop by the Corner Store at the Housing Community Center.)
- Soccer: If you want to put together organized soccer or other games, contact us. We have four regulation size multi-use fields. The covered Pavilion has synthetic turf, a scoreboard, restrooms, and seating.
