Evergreen Tacoma
Located in Pierce County, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington State, after Seattle and Spokane. Only 42 miles from Mount Rainier National Park, Tacoma provides a gateway to natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest.
Tacoma is home to many museums, urban parks, and cultural centers. Interconnecting networks of organizations, businesses, and individuals make-up the Tacoma community. Among these are grassroots organizations such as the Tacoma Urban League, and service groups such as the Metropolitan Development Council, who work to empower Tacoma's underserved urban residents. The city also hosts an array of small and local businesses that are supported through the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber and the Downtown Tacoma Partnership.
The Tacoma area is situated on ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, namely the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.
