The Olympia campus of The Evergreen State College will return to regular operations immediately this afternoon, Monday, June 5. All classes and activities will take place.

“At Evergreen, campus safety is our number-one priority,” said Evergreen President George Bridges. “After consultation with law enforcement today, we have determined there is no active threat to campus. We are ready to get back to the business of teaching and learning.”

Law enforcement officials had been examining information received over the weekend. Out of an abundance of caution, Evergreen’s Olympia campus was closed on Monday, to give law enforcement an opportunity to evaluate their new information.

In addition to the commissioned law enforcement officers that make up Evergreen Police Services, Washington State Patrol officers are now present on campus.  They will remain as long as needed to ensure the safety of all who visit, learn, work, and teach at Evergreen.
