Evergreen 2020 and 2021 graduates invited to take part in in-person commencement ceremony
OLYMPIA – The Evergreen State College’s first in-person commencement ceremony since 2019 is set for 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Evergreen has hosted virtual graduations for the past two years. To allow Greeners who were forced to celebrate virtually to have an opportunity to also walk across the stage, Evergreen is inviting graduates from 2020 and 2021 to take part in the in-person celebration for the class of 2022.
Graduates from these two years can register to attend on the college’s graduation webpage and are asked to wear the cap and gown the college provided to them prior to the virtual ceremonies for these two classes. Supply shortages may prevent last-minute orders from arriving in time for the ceremony so 2020 and 2021 graduates who are unable to access their regalia, can also come as they are.
The 2022 commencement ceremony will celebrate the 50th class graduating from The Evergreen State College, where classes first began in 1971. For more information about The Evergreen State College, please visit evergreen.edu.
