Congratulations to The Evergreen State College Class of 2021!

This week, the Evergreen State College will celebrate the Class of 2021's 794 Greeners!
Our celebrations have already begun with small group and program graduations, and will end with virtual commencement ceremonies for the Olympia and Tacoma campuses on June 11 and 12.
Evergreen’s Olympia virtual commencement takes place on Friday, June 11 from 1 pm to 3 pm. This year’s commencement features:
- Tay Zonday, Evergreen Class of '04, award-winning singer-songwriter and voice talent, commencement speaker
- Dante Faulk '22, student emcee
- Hailey Salazar '20, undergraduate student speaker
- Benjamin Feldbush, class of '19 and '22 (double alum), graduate student speaker
- Ruth Hayes and Laurie Meeker, faculty speakers
Evergreen’s Tacoma Campus will virtually celebrate its graduates on Saturday, June 12, from from 1 pm to 3 pm.
During this ceremony, 39 undergraduate and 16 graduate degree recipients will be honored. This will be the first year that the Evergreen Tacoma has graduates from its Master of Public Administration program.
The theme for Evergreen’s class of 2021 is this Maya Angelou quote:
You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. It may be necessary to encounter defeat so you can know who you are, and what you can rise from.
“This is a fitting quote for a group of individuals who had to adapt quickly from in-person classes to a virtual world, along with finding a new normal in the midst of a worldwide pandemic,” said Evergreen President George Bridges.
“These graduates have demonstrated resilience and creativity in pursuit of their degrees, and they are ready to excel in whatever they choose.”
