US News Ranks Evergreen Tops for Innovation, Undergraduate Teaching and More

(Olympia, Wash.) – When U.S. News & World Report asked top college officials which regional colleges and universities in the West were making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities, they ranked The Evergreen State College first out of 141 schools in the category. Those leaders also ranked Evergreen fourth for best undergraduate teaching. U.S. News rankings released today also rated Evergreen fifth for public institutions and 32nd overall for general excellence among regional universities in the West and 17th in the best for veterans rankings.
On a national basis, Evergreen ranked in the top 28 for first-year experiences that lead to student success and in the top 18 for learning communities where students typically take two or more linked courses and get to know one another and their professors well. Learning communities are a hallmark of Evergreen’s interdisciplinary educational model.
