CASE Survey
We Hear You: Magazine Survey Results
You liked it... you didn’t like it... and you suggested changes. It’s the Greener way to collaborate—and we’re listening!
The CASE Magazine survey distributed in June 2016 produced great information, and hundreds of excellent comments, on a range of communications questions. A total of 1,140 people participated. Thanks to all of you.
The five most popular topics were: alumni in their professions, student research/ academic experience, environmental issues, issues facing higher education (and Evergreen in particular), and faculty research.
There was also strong support for continuing to publish a print version of the magazine. About 88 percent of respondents wanted a paper version or a combination of paper and online.
Most comments were generally positive, but there were also many constructive critiques and suggestions. Here are a few of the many themes we saw: include a mix of not-so-famous alumni who have compelling stories, highlight current students in many fields of study, consider having a wider range of voices (diverse writers and stories with multiple people featured), take on some more challenging issues, and include more stories about connections to the community.
We will use this information to help guide overall communications and improve the magazine’s content, organization, and look. Thanks again.
The following four Evergreen alumnae and friends of the college won a FitBit™ in our drawing: Joslyn Baker, Dianna Caley ’90, Linda Jo Demery ’85, and Clarisse Leong ’94.
