The library has a variety of engaging jobs for student workers.

Circulation Desk

The most active service point in the library, working at the circulation desk is a great way to stay busy and interact with other students, faculty, and staff. Primary tasks include checking items in and out, shelving and pulling materials, and interacting with patrons. Evening and weekend hours are to be expected.

Pay starts at $15.50 / hr. Student workers are expected to work 12 - 16 hours per week, based on availability.

Research Services Desk

At the Research Desk, students will learn to be library super-users and work alongside librarians to assist other students, faculty, staff, and community members with their research. Primary responsibilities include answering patron questions in-person and online, locating physical materials, searching online resources, and guiding users through the research process. Special projects may include creating displays, posting to social media, planning events, creating research guides, and more.

Pay starts at $15.50 / hr. Student workers are expected to work between 8 - 12 hours per week, based on availability. (Full position description | docx)

Archives

Located in the Library basement, the Evergreen Archives is a home to Evergreen's history and special collections. Archives work is great for self-managing students who enjoy projects where they can digitize and describe historical objects and documents.

Pay starts at $15.50 / hr. Student workers are expected to work between 8 - 15 hours per week, based on availability.

Rare Books Room

Located in Library 3302, the Rare Books Room houses our rare and unique collection of handmade books, miniature books, small press works, limited edition prints, contemporary letters and broadsides, and local treasures concerning Northwest authors and history. The Rare Books Room is also the home of the Norman Schaefer Collection of beat poetry.

The Rare Books Room is staffed entirely by student staff assistants who look after the collection and assist visitors in accessing and handling materials. Hiring is done on an annual basis over the summer.

Pay starts at $15.50 / hr. Student workers are expected to work between 8 - 15 hours per week, based on availability.
