Our three graduate programs are grounded in values of service, community, social justice, and stewardship.

An interdisciplinary approach to learning, close collaboration, and narrative evaluations are distinctive features of these programs.

International Graduate Student Application Requirements

    Online application with $50 application fee

    Bachelor's degree

    Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an approved accredited institution of higher education. You may be admitted provisionally pending completion of your bachelor's degree.

    Official Transcript(s) from the college that conferred your bachelor's degree

    Must be in English or translated to English

    Written Statement / Statement of Purpose

    Each graduate program has specific statement requirements

    Proof of English proficiency through one of the following ways

    • A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from an accredited U.S. institution of higher education or from an institution in Australia, the Bahamas, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, or the United Kingdom.
    • Official documentation from an institution (other than those listed in the bullet above) verifying that your bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree is from an institution where all instruction is in English.
    • One of the following minimum English language proficiency test scores demonstrated through submission of official scores at the time of application: 
      • TOEFL paper test: 550
      • TOEFL computerized test: 220
      • TOEFL (internet-based or MyBest score): 79 (92 recommended)
      • IELTS: 6.5

    Sufficient Financial Support for First Academic Year

    Visit tuition and fees to search for graduate non-resident tuition and fee rates.

    Although F-1 international students are unable to apply for FAFSA or WAFSA aid, you may apply for Evergreen scholarships. Each graduate program lists scholarships available.

Master of Public Administration

Advocate powerfully on behalf of the public, imagine new possibilities, and accomplish positive change in your workplace and in your community. Evergreen’s MPA programs emphasize social change and democratic governance – perfect for the student who wants to make the world a better place.

Additional MiT Requirements

  • 50 hours of volunteer or paid work with youth of K-12 age in a public school and a community-based organization setting over the last 5 years.
  • Required State Tests (may postpone until arrival in US)

Master in Teaching

Vibrant public education is the foundation for a just society.   • Prerequisite coursework in social science, natural science, and statistics

Master of Environmental Studies

Evergreen has been a leader in environmental studies for more than 50 years. The Master of Environmental Studies degree teaches graduates to be creative, critical thinkers with the research skills required for the complex nature of professional environmental work and leadership.
