Mini-grants for Faculty Assessment

As part of an initiative supported by the Provost and the Washington Center for Improving Undergraduate Education, the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment offered $10,000 in grant funding per academic year to foster community-building reflection and documentation of faculty assessment of teaching and learning. Grants were awarded in the amount of $500 per faculty member.

Purpose:
  • To encourage systematic and public reflections on the relationship between teaching practices and evidence of student learning.
  • To document and describe approaches and practices that encourage student engagement and complex learning in a manner consistent with scholarly inquiry.
  • To provide opportunities for faculty to share their scholarship on teaching and learning with others in public forums.
