Nancy Koppelman

I was born and raised in the New York area and moved to Olympia in 1983 to enroll at Evergreen.  The light bulb went on in my head during the fourth week of my first quarter and ultimately I decided to become a professor.  My work as a faculty member, administrator, and colleague has been motivated by a desire to give back the many gifts that the College has given to me.

B.A., The Evergreen State College, 1988; M.A., History, University of Washington, 1992; Ph.D., American Studies, Emory University, 1999.

Expertise American studies
I'm interested in intersections between historical and philosophical study. I study the history of technology, American social history, and ethics. I'm an aspiring creative writer.
