Created by ESCEI Student Mentor Milo Gaudiano, the ESCEI Logo has a story behind it. A subtle nod to the mycologist community at Evergreen, the logo tells a story of mycorrhizal network. This network is made up of fungal mycelium, and can make forests into huge interconnected communities. The network can share things like nutrients and information not just among fungi, but other plants as well. It's the plant version of civic engagement! Getting connected with your community and helping to make it happy and healthy is the goal. These three mushrooms are found in the Pacific Northwest: coprinellus micaceus (left), oreades marasmius (center), and amanita muscaria (right).
