Do you have an interest in creating films or video projects? Are you working on a project, but need some skills sharpened? This hands-on video production course is designed for beginners and intermediate students, who are looking to gain or hone production skills in camera, sound, and lighting. Students will learn and deepen foundations in cinematography (image design and frame composition), and practice a variety of production exercises using digital video cameras, sound equipment and lighting kits. The 5-day course appeals to Evergreen students and community members who are interested in learning media production skills,  or anyone looking to incorporate video into their field of study or an ILC.  It is run in First Session in weeks 3 and 4, and can be combined with Development & Writing for Film/Video: Intensive.

Specific activities include: image design, composition and framing, field recording, hand-held and tripod work, interview and directing/producing practice, and film analysis.

No prior knowledge of video is required, but those with prior experience or basic production skills are encouraged to take the course, which can be scaled for their level.

This offering will prepare you for careers and advanced study in:

Media Production.
